چکیده
The effects of stocking density on growth performance, serum biochemistry, digestive enzymes, immune response, and muscle quality largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) reared in nine in-pond raceway systems (IPRS, 22.0 m × 5.0 2.0 m) were studied. M. salmoides with initial an body weight 8.25 ± 0.51 g length 6.99 0.44 cm at 90.91 ind./m3 (low density, LSD), 113.63 (middle MSD), 136.36 (high HSD) triplication. After 300 days culture, MSD recorded the highest final weight, gain, specific rate, yield, but food conversion ratio was lowest. viscerosomatic index LSD significantly higher than other groups. fish HSD showed lower total protein, cholesterol, triglyceride, bilirubin, glucose content, alanine transaminase, aspartate transaminase activity. Significantly intestinal amylase, lipase, trypsin activities, hepatic superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalase (CAT) malondialdehyde content detected compared to others. crude lipid, saturated fatty acid decreased, essential amino acid, delicious polyunsaturated increased increase. No significant difference observed texture. Profitability analysis indicated benefit-to-cost varied between 1.10 1.68, which optimal for should be IPRS farm.

Survival of Foul-Hooked Largemouth Bass(Micropterus salmoides)
We conducted a field experiment to determine the survival rate of foul-hooked (hooked external to the oral cavity) largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) caught and released by recreational anglers. Of 42 largemouth bass caught with hard-plastic baits containing three treble hooks, 15 were hooked only within the mouth and 27 had at least one hook penetrating the external surface of the fish (i...
متن کاملScaling of in vivo muscle velocity during feeding in the largemouth bass, Micropterus salmoides (Centrarchidae).
Many vertebrates undergo large increases in body size over the course of a lifetime, and these increases are often accompanied by changes in morphological and physiological parameters. For instance, in most animals, increases in size with growth are accompanied by decreases in the maximum speed of shortening (V(max)) in locomotor muscles. Curiously, in muscles involved in suction feeding, V(max...
متن کاملMuscle function and power output during suction feeding in largemouth bass, Micropterus salmoides.
Muscle power output is thought to limit suction feeding performance, yet muscle power output during suction feeding has never been directly measured. In this study, epaxial activation and strain, hyoid depression, and intra-oral pressure were simultaneously measured during suction feeding in the largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides). A mechanical model of muscle force transmission between the...
متن کاملCloning, characterization, expression, and feeding response of thyrotropin receptor in largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides).
Thyrotropin receptor (TSHR) is a G-protein-coupled receptor that regulates the synthesis, storage, and secretion of thyroid hormones in the thyroid tissue. The aims of the present study were to characterize the full-length TSHR cDNA in largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides), and to determine the TSHR gene transcription levels in different tissues. In addition, the response of TSHR transcriptio...
